A new mining partner has joined the SupaVac family, welcome, Quarry Mining and Construction Equipment!
Earlier this week, several representatives from Quarry’s fitting team travelled from the Hunter Valley to Sydney for practical training. Our American partner and distributor, Jason Edgar from Rotary Components International Inc., received this video from one of our customers who is a big fan of SupaVac pumps and a strong advocate for them. As he put it: “Experimenting with the pumps was so much fun!”
We are pleased to share a video of him using an SV280-V to clean out a methane gas well at a Waste Management landfill site. One particularly clever technique he implemented was sealing the well opening around the suction hose with plastic during the suction cycle to help maintain vacuum pressure.
In this application, the depth to bottom was 47 ft with a spongy base and no water detected. Interestingly, vacuum pressure remained in the well casing even when the hose was at the bottom. Based on this, it is believed the evacuated material is porous enough to allow continued gas flow during pumping.
